The opportunity

Copenhagen Energy Trading is offering an exciting opportunity for a student trader to join our ambitious team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience and learn the specifics of the intraday power market, all whilst being guided by the best in the industry, developing essential skills and making a difference from the start. You will be supporting our Intraday team, conducting and executing trading strategies within a risk mandate, and actively engaging in a dynamic trading environment.

Responsibilities

• Intraday trading: Trade power across our active markets in Europe and the US.
• Strategy development: Contribute to creating and executing trading strategies.
• Engaging in new markets: Conduct market analysis for active and new markets.
• Collaborative environment: Work closely with our extended team of quantitative analysts and software developers.
• Working hours: Participate in the team’s shift scheme working a minimum of 20 hours per week, which includes day, and evening.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master level program within finance, data science, business administration, or related topics.
• Competitive mindset: A drive to succeed and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Team collaboration: Able to demonstrate a team, collaborative atmosphere while presenting independent working abilities.
• Programming skills: Proficient experience and knowledge in coding languages such as SQL, VBA, Python or similar is considered a big plus.
• Location and availability: You are able to work for a minimum of 20 hours per week from our office in Carlsberg Byen, Copenhagen.
• Language proficiency: Exhibit full professional proficiency in English, enabling effective communication within our international team.

Copenhagen Energy Trading A/S was founded in 2021 and is part of Copenhagen Energy Group. We specialize in short-term proprietary wholesale power trading in Europe. We deploy in-house developed discretionary trading strategies as well as system-based trading strategies with the use of advanced analytics. Via these strategies, vast market understanding, experience, and data science, we move power to where it’s needed the most.

Today, the Copenhagen Energy Group is located in Copenhagen (HQ), Nykøbing Mors, Berlin, and Perth with plans to open further offices across the globe.
