Buelundvej Solar Park is a 225-hectare solar project located in Ikast-Brande Municipality in the central part of Jylland. The project is currently undergoing the public hearing, which is available here: LINK.
The project was applied for in 2022 as one of the first marquee projects of Copenhagen Energy. The project is a result of a long-standing relationship between the main landowner and Andreas von Rosen, the chairman of Copenhagen Energy.
The project proposes building a solar park partially around three turbines, which are in the final stages of permitting, while simultaneously constructing the solar park. The project was selected for permitting in 2022 due to the significant natural potential the area offers, with a special focus on raising the water levels in the eastern part of the project. The large distances to neighboring houses and the use of existing vegetation, which allow for constructing a large solar park with substantial energy production and limited visibility for the nearest neighbors, also contributed to the project obtaining political support. Additionally, the project’s annual financial contribution will benefit the local civic association in the nearest city, Blåhøj.
The project is currently in the middle of the permitting process and is receiving substantial endorsements from key local stakeholders, including DN Ikast-Brande, via a public hearing phase. It is expected that the project will receive final political approval by the end of 2025.
The rest of 2024 will involve securing the project’s grid connection via a Grid Connection Maturation Agreement with Energinet. Additionally, many of the core environmental studies conducted under the management of the lead advisor, Planplus, will be finalized using state-of-the-art detection equipment.
